The bats have finally gotten their revenge on Ozzy Osbourne, and they're hitting him in the wallet. About a year ago, we reported that Ozzy purchased some land in the southeast England county Buckinghamshire. Osbourne tried to convert a barn, but was stopped by the local government after it was discovered that bats and owls inhabited the barn. Amongst the species are brown long-eared bats and pipistrelle bats, two rare forms of bat that are protected by enviormental laws. A license is required to properly displace them.
According to The Daily Record, Osbourne has to shell over £18,500 or $28,173.65 to obtain the proper license to remove the bats from his $5 million dollar home. Failure to comply results in a 6 month jail term and a fine of £5,000 per bat.
Some may say this is Ozzy getting some karma after biting the head off a bat some thirty years ago. That moment was so controversial it made our list:
