Exodus has announced they're in the studio working on the pre-production tracks for their first new album since 2014's Blood In, Blood Out. Guitarist Gary Holt recently called the new material "crushing," later adding "We all say that, right? I’m not kidding. It’s something else. People are gonna hear this record and they’re gonna go, "Holy shit! Exodus is up to no good.'"
Exodus originally planned to hit the studio this summer, but things got a little derailed with the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. As for the long gap between records, Vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza said in 2018 that Exodus wouldn't work on a new album without the full attention of Holt. Holt spent the past few years filling in live for Jeff Hanneman in Slayer. His commitment to Slayer wrapped up in 2019 after their final show.
It is finally happening. Pre production is starting now.
