Jason Newsted has been keeping a relatively low profile as of late. Save for an appearance on stage with Voivod a few weeks ago, he's been out of the public light for about two years, since cancelling the remainder of his solo band's tour and signing off social media. And, let's be honest – Jason Newsted never has to do another thing in his life, just based off the money he makes on sales of Metallica's Black Album.
Newsted's new project is "mostly acoustic" and will perform under the moniker Would And Steal, with fellow musician Rob Tucker.
There is no music currently available from the project, but Newsted will be offering his first interview on the subject this Friday, July 22nd at 12pm Pacific in a Facebook Live interview with Mighty Fine Guitars.
Newsted also has two concerts scheduled on on August 5th and 6th at Mighty Fine Guitars in Lafayette, California. They will be benifit shows with all proceeds going to Little Kids Rock, a charity that helps keep music programs in schools.
