Fuming Mouth guitarist and vocalist Mark Whelan was sadly diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in November 2021. Whelan underwent rounds of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant to battle his AML, and as of this week has been declared cancer free!
In a post on Fuming Mouth's Instagram, Whelan said he was able to get a bone marrow transplant thanks to the Be The Match organization and plans to return to playing music as soon as possible. You can also sign up to be a potential donor at the Be The Match website here and help save a life!
"I'm proud to say that I am cancer FREE! Thanks to Be The Match I was able to receive a bone marrow transplant and am currently recovering. We'll be updating my GoFundMe page soon with more details of how my treatment went. For now, I'm ready to start living again and playing music. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. I couldn't have done it without you. Your love will be felt forever. I'll never die! I'll never rest!"
