Because of the wickedly sinful nature of Ghost, its no surprise to hear that the release for the new Ghost B.C. album Infestissumam is being pushed back a week to April 16 due to four CD manufacturers refusing to print 16th century orgy artwork on the deluxe edition of the album. Check it out:
"We kept on getting turned down because of the CD art, which is basically a 16th century illustration of an orgy," a source close to the band told SPIN.com. "[The bandmembers] weren't surprised. The comment was 'Well, I thought this would have happened sooner.' The artwork was meant to provoke some sort of thought, but it's been one obstacle after another."
To further prevent the album from being delayed further, the artwork will be reused from the standard edition of Infestissumam. The NSFW orgy imagery will still be included in the vinyl and European copies of the new album, so look for those on eBay as soon as the album drops.
Does anyone find this a little awesome? Papa Emeritus II and his Nameless Ghouls will be touring North America this Spring; check out the dates here.
