I feel like there have been no supergroups in recent years, so I'm really glad Gospel of the Witches exists. The band consists of Ephel Duath vocalist Karyn Crisis and Immolation vocalist Ross Dolan, Ephel Duath guitarist Davide Tiso handling all stringed instruments plus orchestrations and Intronaut drummer Danny Walker. Out of all the supergroups we've mentioned up to now I think this one has by far the most unexpected line-up. Awesome, yeah, but it definitely threw me off.
The band will be hitting up The Basement Recording Studio in N.C. this June with producer Jaime King (Between the Buried and Me) and will feature a guest vocals spot by Tombs frontman Mike Hill. Because why not at this point? If this sounds as good o you as it does to me, then head over to the band's Kickstarter and donate to help them achieve their $15,000 goal! They're already at $5,444 as of my writing this around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 26, and they've got 24 days left… so I would tend to think they're going to make it.
You can also hear a song preview on their Kickstarter.
Throw your money at it anyway.
