Vended – the band featuring vocalist Griffin Taylor and drummer Simon Crahan, songs of Slipknot's Corey Taylor and M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan – has been accused of nepotism pretty much ever since their inception. Which never really felt fair considering Vended is a solid band, both in the studio and live.
Griffin has now addressed those accusations of nepotism in an interview with Metal Hammer, saying it was a lot to deal with initially. "I was a teenager with a lot of feelings and a lot of emotions and I didn't know how to deal with it," he said. "It would just depress the fuck out of me."
Simon confronted the accusations directly, saying that his father straight up told him he wouldn't have backed Vended if they weren't good. "My dad told me, 'I would not put you on a tour if you weren't good.' We wouldn't be playing festivals the way we do if we weren't good. We're a good band. We play good music. That's why we're here. We've discovered that talent ourselves. And everyone thinks it's just been handed to us."
Vended will hit the road in 2025 with While She Sleeps and Bury Tomorrow. Get your tickets here.
