Guitarist Josh Rand Says STONE SOUR "Has No Timetable For Return"

Due to Corey Taylor's solo stuff.

Stone Sour has made it a habit to release a record and tour pretty much every time vocalist Corey Taylor is done with whatever Slipknot's new album cycle is at the time. Guitarist Josh Rand tells Guitar World that isn't the case this time around.

Rand said in a recent interview that once Slipknot is wrapped up with their We Are Not Your Kind touring cycle, Taylor is going to dedicate some time to his solo career instead. Rand adds this worked out for Stone Sour just fine, who needed a break from being a band anyway. Stone Sour does not have a timetable to return to the world.

"That's a good question… To be honest, the band is on hiatus right now with no timetable on a return. It's a mixture of needing a break, plus Corey wants to do a solo album, so I don't know when there will be new Stone Sour music.

"I have started writing things but I don't want what it will end up being something later for Stone Sour or maybe a new project for me or whatever. I haven't really thought about it because I've been working on this live release, plus we have some exciting stuff getting announced next year which I can't say yet. But as far as a proper Stone Sour record, I genuinely have no idea when that will happen."

Stone Sour just released their live album Hello, You Bastards: Live In Reno today, which I assume is what Rand was talking about in that interview.
