It's been a rollercoaster year for Hellyeah. The band lost their heart and soul, drummer Vinnie Paul to a heart attack last year and worked hard to finish the album they started with him. They are set to release Welcome Home this Friday, in tribute to Paul.
But will there be more Hellyeah music after this? Guitarist Tom Maxwell is not so sure. Speaking to Outburn, he said:
"The only thing we're focusing on right now is honoring this record, touring it and honoring Vince with every show that we play," said Maxwell. "So, we're just gonna have to see. I can't really forward think that far ahead. Whether there's ever going to be another record, I don't know. Would I like to do one? Sure. Am I ready to do one? No. It's too early to say anything. We're just gonna take this one day, one tour, one song at a time right now."
The band recently went out on their first tour without Vinnie, with drummer Roy Mayorga filling in. I'm sure they are still taking things day by day.
If I had to make a prediction, I would say that the band will eventually write and record new music. But that's just me. Hellyeah have more tour dates next month with Nonpoint. Get tickets here.
