Grind-core extravaganza Hivesmasher were easily one of my favorite grind bands to exist. Some might even call the fury and angst they unleashed upon their instruments as outright cruel and fucked up, in the best possible way. Their exit was swift and sad, but left us with a tremendous album, titled Gutter Choir, that had enough rage and repeat value to last the last 6 years since its release. Today, it comes as a surprise that the band has announced their return on stage, and what looks like a new album in the works!
The band will take the stage on August 18th, at Brooklyn Bazar in NYC, supporting Enemy Soil for their first time in over 3 years, with presumably more dates to follow. They have also released the following video, for what looks like a soft announcement to new music on the way. Two fists in the air for that!
If you're unfamiliar, do yourself a solid, and buy Gutter Choir right now! I can't tell you how much punishment my steering wheel has felt while listening to this album over the years. Keep up with the band via their Facebook page right here.
