Before they were in Killswitch Engage, vocalist Howard Jones and drummer Justin Foley were in a band founded in 1997 called Blood Has Been Shed. Jones left in 2002 to join Killswitch Engage, and Foley left in 2004 to do the same, ultimately putting an end to the band. There have been rumors of a follow-up to Blood Has Been Shed's final record Spirals in 2003 for years now, but nothing concrete has ever surfaced.
Jones now tells the BREWtally Speaking Podcast that "there have been discussions" about releasing material that was already recorded, but he won't elaborate more on what they entailed.
“That music, I don’t know if it’ll ever see the light of day. Doesn’t mean Blood Has Been Shed won’t see the light of day… It’s been a long time since that music has really been discussed, but there have been discussions, and I’ll just leave it at that.”
Jones also remains a little optimistic about Blood Has Been Shed getting back together, but says everyone has to be on board with the idea.
“It’s one of those things where at times this thing’s been dead and buried, but then little sparks will happen here and there, so who knows, eventually we may get on the same page.”
