Indonesia has occasionally cropped up in metal for interesting reasons, namely that its president is a huge metal fan. This time around the news isn't so cheerful, as the owners of the More Shop in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, have been arrested due to stocking a Kreator shirt that has the Indonesia Communist Party (PKI) logo on it.
Blabbermouth reports that "the shop owners are just being questioned" and "there is no indication of treason. According to the suspects, they didn’t know it was the PKI symbol [on the t-shirts].”
Before we get all up in arms about this being bullshit, MetalSucks makes a good point that in 1965, between 500,000 and 1,000,000 were killed in the Indonesian massacre, which involved communists and leftists, and their believed supporters, were blamed for failed military actions and were purged. So this isn't just unwarranted – I can see how this would be a legitimate concern.
