It's that time of year again! The time where the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame have been announced, and where voting has begun via the hall of fame's website! Voting will close on December 5 and the induction ceremony will be held on April 14, 2018, at the Public Hall in Cleveland, Ohio.
The criteria for this year's nominees is that they much have released their debut single or album in 1992 or earlier. With that said, there are an eclectic bunch of nominees this year. They are:
- Radiohead
- Rage Against The Machine
- Judas Priest
- Bon Jovi
- Depeche Mode
- The Cars
- Dire Straits
- MC5
- Kate Bush
- J. Geils Band
- LL Cool J
- Eurythmics
- The Meters
- The Moody Blues
- Rufus featuring Chaka Khan
- Nina Simone
- Sister Rosetta Tharpe
- Link Wray
- The Zombies
'Bout time for Judas Priest, huh? Also, Radiohead got on the ballot really quick considering Pablo Honey didn't come out until 1993, but "Creep" was released in 1992. Same goes for Rage Against The Machine, whose debut came out in 1992… but I guess this is going to start happening now. Your childhood has become nostalgia, dear readers. You're old now.
Note that these are not the inductees. Now the voting will begin and narrow this list down by about half.
