The case against Marilyn Manson (real name Brian Warner) brought forth by model Ashley Morgan Smithline has been dismissed.
According to a story by Consequence, Smithline's attorney Jay Ellwanger backed out of the case in October. Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha offered Smithline 90 days to either hire a new attorney or represent herself, of which she did neither by the December 5 deadline. The case was officially dismissed without prejudice on Tuesday, January 3.
"We thank and commend Ashley Smithline for dismissing her claims against Brian Warner without seeking or receiving anything in return," said Manson's attorney Howard King. "Ms. Smithline has refused to be manipulated by others who are trying to pursue their own agendas against Mr. Warner. We wish her well and will continue to work to assure that a significant price will be paid by those who have tried to abuse our legal system."
Smithline accused Manson of of sexual assault, human trafficking, and unlawful imprisonment in a cover story for People in May 2021. This dismissal follows the previous dismissal of the case against Manson by ex-assistant Ashley Walters from last May.
