Much-loved Norwegian progressive metal act Leprous will be releasing its new album Malina on August 25 via InsideOut Records. The band recorded Malina with David Castillo (Katatonia, Bloodbath, Opeth, etc.) at Ghostward in Sweden, and had the mixing duties handled by Jens Bogren (Dark Tranquillity, Daylight Dies, Enslaved, etc.).
Here's what keyboardist and vocalist Einar Solberg had to say about the album.
"We feel with Malina that we've managed to achieve a natural-sounding organic album with great songs that still sounds modern. Organic doesn't necessarily equal 'retro'. While we still very much sound like Leprous, I believe that with this album we more accurately define as a rock band than a metal band. We're insanely proud of this album, and can't wait to share it with you all."
It's also worth mentioning that featured on the record will be cellist Raphael Weinroth-Browne, who we've featured before and who has worked with Woods Of Ypres in the past! Oh, and check out the killer artwork for Malina below, done by artist Corey Meyers!
