Deafheaven has no upcoming live shows to speak of, and it's been just over two years since the band's 2015 album New Bermuda. Given those two things coupled with the below photo of the band gathered in a jam room under the caption "2018," it seems pretty safe to assume they're either rehearsing new material for a new album or are recording one right now.
Deafheaven also put out a pretty cryptic photo back in November 2017, so it could very well be that those were the rehearsals and this is the actual recording process. Not to mention the "2018" photo appears to have the amps properly miked up. All we know for sure is that we could really use a new Deafheaven album in our lives.
It's also worth noting that Doomriders bassist Chris Johnson has been filling in for the band live, though he's not an official member.
