Max Cavalera is certainly keeping himself these days. Cavalera is currently working on a new Killer Be Killed album, about to put out a new Soulfly album, and put out a new Cavalera Conspiracy album last year. Clearly averse to sleeping and relaxing, Cavalera tells Nuclear Blast in a new interview that he'd "like to do a real heavy project at some time" but isn't sure who he'd do it with yet. Implying Cavalera isn't in heavy enough bands, apparently?
He also says he'd love to do a real dub-meets-metal band, even if he's the only one who likes it. Which frankly might end up being pretty cool.
“Another idea that I would really love to do is the two kinds of music that I like, which is metal and dub—not dubstep—but original dub, which is like a version of reggae. I’d like to go to Jamaica and record a lot of traditional, original dub from Jamaica and Europe and then make a full-on metal/reggae dub record. I don’t even care if nobody likes it. It’s one of those things, it’s just for my own thing. I just gotta do it. I’ve been wanting to do this record for 20 years now…”
