MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine Really Wishes He'd Written The Pink Panther Theme Song

Also some Pink Floyd riffs.

Also some Pink Floyd riffs.

Megadeth vocalist and guitarist Dave Mustaine recently sat down with Music Radar to discuss all things music, including the riffs he wishes he'd written.

While Mustaine praises Pink Floyd's cleverness on "Money", he also says he'd have been stoked to write the theme song to The Pink Panther. Which, he adds, was performed by the late Nick Menza's father Don!

“Again there are tons, like all the clever ones Pink Floyd were coming out with, which are worth their weight in gold. Money is great – crazy and hard to keep track of – but you could go up to anyone and sing them that melody and they’ll know it!

“But our previous drummer Nick Menza’s dad [Don] actually played the sax parts on the Pink Panther song… that definitely would have been a cool one to write!”

Megadeth is currently in the studio presumably not covering the theme song to The Pink Panther, but instead recording original music. The band will also play their 1994 record Youthanasia on Halloween in full during a show in Colorado.
