The music community is coming together to stage a one-night-only benefit concert for Bad Brains vocalist, H.R. The 67-year-old legend has been grappling with debilitating Short-lasting, Unilateral, Neuralgiform headache attacks with Conjunctival injection and Tearing (SUNCT) headaches since 2014, and the challenges have only intensified in recent times.
Financial setbacks, coupled with the ongoing medical condition, have prompted friends and fans to launch crowdfunding initiatives that have remained active throughout the year. Now, as a powerful gesture of solidarity, an all-star concert, titled Positive Mental Attitude, is set to take place on December 11 at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles, CA.
The lineup for this special evening features tribute sets from members of Fishbone, Mr. Bungle, Beastie Boys, Sublime, and more. One of the standout performances will be a tribute to Bad Brains' hardcore punk material, featuring Fishbone's vocalist Angelo Moore, bassist Norwood Fisher, renowned drummer Dave Lombardo (Mr. Bungle, ex-Slayer, etc.), and special guests yet to be announced.
The promotional poster below outlines the exciting lineup and hints at additional special guests to heighten the anticipation. Importantly, 100% of the proceeds generated from this benefit concert will be directed towards H.R. and his family, providing much-needed support to navigate the challenges they currently face.
