Frank and I drove out to Camden, NJ this past Friday for the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. We spent the whole day following As I Lay Dying around for an upcoming video we'll be posting called "A Day In The Life of As I Lay Dying." We followed the band from the beginning of their day, waking up, with morning rituals, throughout their performance, and all the way to the night time, when the true party begins. Every few nights on Mayhem, a band is charge of organizing a "metal mixer," which is a party with a unique theme. On this night, it was Whitechapel's turn and the band decided to go full juggalo for this "gathering."
As the sun set, and Slipknot's set concluded you could hear ICP blasting from the second stage bus area. As I approached, there it was…facepaint everywhere. The jugga-chapels were in full force, and they got their friends in The Devil Wears Prada and As I Lay Dying to play along as well. Their commitment to their characters was truly impressive. We got plenty of ridiculous video footage of the event that we'll be baking into the clip, but for now check out these photos from the scene of the crime…
