Earlier this week, we posted footage from Metallica's big weekend charity event, where they busted out some killer songs acoustically.
Today, we got a press release that noted that event brought in $1.3 million dollars to various charities. Ticket prices ranged between $250 and $1,250, and there was an auction, so you can see how things could add up quickly.
The release noted that all the funds "will go to food banks in cities the band has played on its current WorldWired Tour and carefully selected community colleges throughout the country. All Within My Hands is supported in these efforts by the American Association of Community Colleges and Feeding America."
The auction is actually still open, with one of the items being a dinner date with Lars' dad Torben, the legend responsible for this iconic moment inĀ Some Kind of Monster:

Other items for auction include the opportunity to skate with Tony Hawk, instruments played by the band and a wine tasting dinner with Lars. Bidding ends on Friday, November 9th at 5pm PT.
