I'm a little out of the loop on what's been going on with my favorite animated metalheads on Metalocalypse, but I've slowly been trying to catch up to the later seasons. When I ran into co-creator Brendan Small at the Golden Gods, he was very coy about the future of the show saying there was a big announcement coming soon. Today, he revealed that announcement, a Dethklok ROCK OPERA.
What happens to Toki? Metalocalypse; the Doomstar Requiem. A 1hr complete ROCK OPERA w/ 1 hr of brand new original music. Coming soon. RT

I guess the series is done with seasons and will now move to occasional specials. If somebody has kept up with the show, leave a comment letting us know what the hell is going on with Toki that he's missing?
Adult Swim released this official blip about the special:
In Metalocalypse: The Doom Star Requiem, we pick up directly after the abduction of Dethklok guitarist Toki Wartooth in the season 4 finale. With his life in danger his only salvation can come from the four most selfish human celebrities on earth—his bandmates, extreme metal band DETHKLOK. Will they be able to get past their own egos to help someone besides themselves? Find out in this one-hour heavy metal rock opera special with a completely original score. Created by Brendon Small, Metalocalypse: The Doom Star Requiem airs in October. Animated one-hour special.
Either way, I'm really excited at the prospect of a Dethklok rock'pra as I like to call it. Are you?
In the meantime, check out the mighty Necrosexual interviewing Brendon:
