Back in February, we found out that Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell's widow Vicky Cornell, Brad Pitt and Peter Berg's production company Film 45 were working on a documentary about the singer. Now there's some more information available.
According to Blabbermouth, the documentary will be titled Like A Stone and will be co-written by Mark Casimir Dyniewicz Jr.. Lauchlin MacDonald will play Chris Cornell, Robert De Niro's daughter Drena De Niro will play Chris's wife Vicky Cornell, and Adelicia Morris will play Chris's mother Karen Cornell.
Additionally, Sandeep will play guitarist Kim Thayil, and Paul Louis Harrell will play producer Michael Beinhorn. Bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, The Beatles, Soundgarden, and Audioslave will all show up as themselves via archival footage.
In May of 2017, Chris Cornell was found in his hotel room after a gig in Detroit, where he hung himself, which was quickly ruled a suicide. Cornell's wife, Vicky rejected the ruling by law enforcement. She blamed the death on taking too much anti-anxiety medication, especially after her final conversation with Chris, where she said he didn't sound like himself, and sounded like he did when he was addicted to Oxycontin.
