Justin Brannan, who you might know as the guitarist for Indecision and Most Precious Blood, is seeking to make a name for himself in New York City politics. Brannan ran in the New York City Democratic primary elections to be on the general election ballot come November 7 of this year, and he won!
According to the Gothamist, Brannan received 38.66%, beating out his opponent Khader El-Yateem, who brought in 31.26% of the vote. MetalSucks points out that Brannan formerly served as City Council Member Vincent Gentile’s chief-of-staff, and will represent the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst, and Bath Beach if elected.
So get out and vote on November 7 regardless of who you're voting for, because you really ought to take part in your local politics. Anyway, let's listen to some Most Precious Blood.
