You may have heard of France's black metal/noise group, Plebeian Grandstand, before. They released a crushing album in 2014 called Lowgazers which was one of my personal favorites from that year. The Frenchmen are originally from Toulouse and craft a strong blend of blackened, noisy dissonance and hardcore's white-hot rage. The resultant concoction takes the form of a violent and unforgiving slab of metal. If you initially missed Lowgazers, there is no need to fret, it was announced late Friday/early Saturday that Plebeian Grandstand will be returning this year with a new album.
Their new album is called False Highs, True Lows. It will be arriving April 29th through Throatruiner Records and there is a teaser for the album included below. Stay on the lookout for this one as April draws near. I have heard this album, and please trust me when I say that this is one that should not be slept on. Plebeian Grandstand makes some great stuff. I will let a portion of the press release describe False Highs, True Lows because the words absolutely ring true about the music:
"False Highs, True Lows is PLEBEIAN GRANDSTAND’s most accomplished effort to date; with guitars ranging between dry-heaving riffs, light-speed melodies and crushing sludgier parts, a terrifying, surgically savage drum performance full of maniacal blasts beats and martial rhythms, and the most angst-ridden vocal performance since the invention of waterboarding."
