In October 2009, Rammstein released Liebe ist für alle da, the band's most recent studio album. In November 2009, the album was censored by the Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien (Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons) in Germany for the lyrics to the single "Ich tu dir weh," as well as the inner artwork of the album.
Now in 2016, the band is firing back with a lawsuit over the censorship for €66,000 ($75,000) in damages, according to DW.com. The censorship was lifted in May 2010 by The Administrative Court in Cologne, so it appears as though the lawsuit is specifically dealing with damages between November 2009 and May 2010.
