Rock and roll legend Chuck Berry, who lived an amazing life, and is credited with essentially creating the basis for rock and roll. There is a famous John Lennon quote, "If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'."
The The New York Hardcore Chronicles Page put it best earlier today, "Without Chuck Berry, there's no Keith Richards, no Johnny Thunders, no Jimi Hendrix. Without Jimi Hendrix there's no Ritchie Blackmore and no Fast Eddie. With no Fast Eddie there's no Motörhead, with no Motörhead there's no Cromags, no Venom, no Metallica. Without Chuck Berry there is nothing but a wasteland. RIP The Godfather of Rock & Roll." Many prominent rock and metal musicians took to social media to pay tribute to the legend.
