Oh hell yes! Superjoint Ritual is getting back together this year to do a tour! While we're not too sure of the specifics right now, we know for a fact it's happening. In an interview with AXS, drummer Joey "Speedy" Gonzalez (who also plays in Warbeast) said the plan right now is to fully reunite and hit the road. This is the first time since the band broke up back in 2004 that Superjoint Ritual will be on tour. Granted, the band did a one-off show in 2014, but that kind of doesn't count.
Maybe it'll coincide with the little Down tour later on this year? That would be wildest shit ever.
Warbeast drummer Joey "Speedy" Gonzalez, in fact, is also in Anselmo's solo band Phil Anselmo & The Illegals and confirmed to AXS off camera after this interview with Corbitt that Superjoint is planning to fully reunite for a tour this year, on the heels of last October's one-off performance at the Housecore Horror Film Festival in Austin.
Here's hoping this is "just a tour and doesn't mean anything" kind of reuniting, just like Refused, Carcass, At The Gates and just about every other band that got back together and did music over the past few years. It would be the first time this happened. No word on if original members like Hank3 will be involved this year, as he was not a part of the "Superjoint" reunion at last year's Housecore Horror Fest.
