We love ourselves a good ole-fashion tour rumor, and what a (potential) tour this one is going to be. It's highly likely that Carcass, The Black Dahlia Murder and Gorguts will be touring early next year. Here's why we think so:
As our buddies at MetalSucks have pointed out, Carcass will be flying back to the States for the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise in late January.
Besides the cruise, the band have one more confirmed gig in the States, and that is at Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett's horror con, Fear FestEvil which is happening February 6th through the 8th, as confirmed by Hammett in a recent interview.
I can't forsee Carcass getting off the cruise on January 31st and then just flying to San Franciso for the horror con, they're going to tour their way over, and who better to tour with then The Black Dahlia Murder and Gorguts?
But how did I deduce that those two bands would be the openers? Jeff Walker said so himself! After some searching, I found two separate recaps of the band's September show in Chicago, of their limited run of dates to promote the release of Surgical Steel and at that show Walker promised they'd be back "in the spring" with the two aforementioned bands.
Perhaps he got his seasons confused? A quick peak at Black Dahlia Murder's itinerary shows they only have Australia's Soundwave Festival booked.
Either way, we know this tour will happen, but when will it happen?
Meanwhile, let's all watch this full set from Carcass on loop until the announcement is made official.
