Sanguisugabogg vocalist Devin Swank recently unveiled his new "Free Luigi" shirt in reference to 26-year old Luigi Mangione, who was arrested as the lead suspect in the murder of UnitedHealthcare chief executive Brian Thompson. Swank has now clarified that the money made from the shirt sales will go to both Undue Medical Debt and the Patient Advocate Foundation.
Pre-orders for the shirt are available here, which end Monday. You can also check out Swank's Linktree here, which offers a way fans can donate straight to Undue Medical Debt and the Patient Advocate Foundation without buying the shirt.
On the shirt and the donations, Swank wrote: "Thank you guys for your orders while I get everything set up I wanted everyone to know not only is this design purely out of comedy and not advocating any side of the matter I wanna give back and let people know that the money being spent on these will go to actual good use and that I will be giving back and supporting 2 organizations with an equal donation that helps people receive healthcare and not get buried by the burden of medical debt."
"Undue Medical Debt – A nonprofit organization that's rated 4/4 Stars on Charity Navigator with a mission to buy and erase the medical debts of everyday people, freeing them from bills they can't afford
"Patient Advocate Foundation – A nonprofit organization rated 4/4 stars on Charity Navigator with a mission to safeguard patients with chronic, life-threatening and debilitating diseases by effectively meditating issues related to access to care and preserving their financial stability
"Nobody should be denied medical help or be in a heaping pile of debt just to be able to stick around in life and that's something I think everyone can agree on.
"I've posted links in my Linktree to donate to both of these organizations even if you wish to order a shirt or not."
