Septicflesh underwent a bit of a lineup change in 2014 when it lost drummer Fotis Benardo, leaving some fairly large shows to fill. Benardo's last record with the band was 2014's Titan, and fans didn't get to see much of his face live thereafter. Fortunately, Septicflesh tapped ex-Decapitated drummer Kerim "Krimh" Lechner, who has also filled in for bands like Behemoth and Vesania live, so it can pretty accurately be said that the dude's got some chops.
Now the band is working on its first-ver record with Lechner behind the kit! The band, alongside producer Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, Opeth, Leprous, etc.), will be working at Sweden's Fascination Street Studios to knock out the new album later this year. The band says the new album "will feature new dimensions to Septicflesh's sound," so we'll see what that means soon enough.
Septicflesh has featured a live orchestra on the past three of its records, so I'd imagine at the very least we'll get that with the new one?
