Well, a congratulations goes out to SLAYER for winning Best Metal Performance for "Eyes of the Insane" beating out LAMB OF GOD's "Redneck", MASTODON's "Colony of Birchmen", MINISTRY's "Lies, Lies, Lies" and STONE SOUR's "30/30-150." The metal award was not given out on the televised broadcast.
The award show itself can be summed up in one word: Yawn! The coolness of the HD broadcast could not hide the fact that this show is completely out of touch with modern times. Thank god I DVRed and we fast forwarded through most of it. It was just atrocious. Dixie Chicks?!? The fuckin' Dixie Chicks?? Puh-lease! And, in case you missed it Tony Bennett was giving shout outs to Target…he's got mad street cred. Screw the Grammys!
Other notable wins from the Grammys include Adam Jones of TOOL winning Best Recording Package and WOLFMOTHER winning Best Hard Rock performance.
