Slipknot bassist Paul Gray passed away in May 2010 in an Urbandale hotel from an overdose on a variety of drugs, including the use of fentanyl and morphine. Gray's family has since taken pain-relief specialist Dr. Daniel Baldi and his former employers to court over Gray's obtaining the drugs, though Baldi claimed he did not prescribe Gray the drugs that led to his overdose.
According to Baldi's lawyer Connie Diekema in the Des Moines Register, the trial was scheduled to go to Polk County District Court this Monday, but a settlement was reached outside a trial. What parties settled and how much money was involved in the settlement is not public information at this time.
Baldi was initially charged with 10 criminal counts of involuntary manslaughter, but he was acquitted in 2014.
