A few weeks ago, we were shocked to learn that Slipknot had to reschedule the first two weeks of their big summer tour with Marilyn Manson because Corey Taylor needed emergency surgery.
It turns out Taylor had a broken neck, and he didn't even realize it. Taylor had two discs replaced in his spine and work done to his vertebrae and according to a new update, he is miraculously far along on the road to recovery.
Yesterday, Taylor tweeted that he went to a follow-up appointment with his doctor who told him he shouldn't headbang and jump around on the tour. Taylor mentioned his neck and back would be back to 90% strength in four to six months and back to 100% in about a year.

I have nothing but the upmost respect for Taylor for even considering going back on the road after a surgery like this. Taylor's first show back is next Thursday, June 28th in Nashville. See the full tour routing here.
