Spawn of Possession is one band I feel not enough people talk about. They are supreme Swedish technical death metal that influenced many bands you hear today and they are coming back with a vengeance. The band recently signed with Relapse Records and have just announced they entered the studio to being recording the followup to 2006's Noctambulant. Here is the official statement from the band:
"Alright people, today we begin the recording of the next Spawn of Possession album. Henrik 'Morris' Schönström has entered Pama Studios to kick off the drum production together with engineer Mankan Sedenberg. Former drummer and now vocalist Dennis Röndum will also be present to lend his ear and keep the coffee fresh. Stay alert for photos and updates."
I am incredibly excited to hear this release, as it's been 5 years since we've heard new music from the band. They have a lot to live up to, and hopefully all the line-up changes won't negatively affect the band's trademark sound.
