Speaking to the Everblack podcast, Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris discussed the progress on new music from the legendary heavy metal band. He made it very simple: there is no new music in the works right now.
"No, not at the moment. There's nothing in the works at the moment. But that's not to say there won't be.
"Bruce [Dickinson] has only just done his solo tour. So he spent quite a long time just doing that. So, I don't know. Yeah. I mean, maybe we'll find time to cram [a new album] in somewhere. You never know."
In addition to the singer just recently finishing his solo tour, Iron Maiden's last album Senjutsu came out in 2021. There were five and six year waits for The Book of Souls and Senjutsu, respectively, so it's not super unusual for them to not have news yet. They could also just be taking more time than usual to live their lives—the members of Iron Maiden are getting older and have plenty of other commitments, including touring the world.
