Take A Ride On The "Sabbath Highway" With Groove Rockers THE WATCHERS

The Watchers are Ripple Music's latest contribution to the new wave of American heavy rock and by God do they know how to bring down the thunder.

The Watchers are Ripple Music's latest contribution to the new wave of American heavy rock and by God do they know how to bring down the thunder.

The Watchers aren't exactly like other modern day rock and roll bands, even the ones on Ripple Music. First of all – The Watchers represent the veritable creme de la creme of the modern stoner metal crop, featuring members of SpiralArmsOrchid and BlackGates. Their music very much fits into the same mode as these foundational acts, showing us the exciting future of a band who thundered into this realm with one of the coolest labels going right now.

For those disappointed with getting just an EP realize that things are picking up for the band, with frontman Tim Narducci saying,

“We just got off a two week West Coast tour with our Ripple label mates ZED. It was an awesome run hitting Portland, Seattle, Eugene, Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas. All cool intimate venues with great locals to support. Our future plans include our record release show November 5th and a couple San Francisco shows in December, one in particular with Castle and Mos Generator at Thee Parkside. We will be back in the studio early 2017 working on our full-length record along with some specialty releases for Ripple Music.”

As for the video itself – what more can you expect from big bearded rockers who are in it for life? In other words – there are a lot of snakes, flashy guitars and hairy dudes.  Toss in what appears to be a burning church and you have your recipe for a rock and roll nightmare for the ages. Narducci's voice resonates proudly over Sabbathian riffs and the band seems fully aware that they are onto something special. As per the video, Tim Narducci said:

“The video was filmed last July by Doug Canning who also filmed Orchid’s ‘Mouths Of Madness’, ‘Capricorn’, ‘Wizzard Of War’ videos. The idea was to make a performance video, and then it sort of evolved into adding overlapping visuals that tie the video and song together. It captures in essence exactly what it is we’re all about.”

So here it is, in all of its black and white glory! Enjoy!
