That Time SLIPKNOT Got A Cow Heart As A Gift

And the prize for the most bizarre gift goes to…

Cows

The customer is always right?… Well, not always but very few defy that saying. Fans are like an artist’s customers, so how do artists react when fans get creative or batshit crazy with gifts to show how much of a follower they are.

Recently, Corey Taylor was asked to list the worst, strangest, or scariest fan present he has ever gotten in a recent fan poll for an upcoming print issue of Revolver. His answer couldn't be a more bizarre mix of wonder, laugh, and utter disgust.

The story happened during a Valentine’s Day in the city of Amsterdam. Slipknot was playing a show that day and while meeting with some fans, one of them brought a real cow heart in a Valentine's box to be gifted to band. "it fucking smelled awful", recalls Corey.

"One of Slipknot's biggest fans in Holland was this guy Crazy White Sean — he was this weird hippie artist-musician dude who just tooled around Amsterdam doing his thing. We were in Amsterdam on Valentine's Day to play a show, and he brought us a real cow heart in a Valentine's box and it fucking smelled awful.

"Somebody tried to take a bite of it and immediately threw up. I was like, 'That's the dumbest thing I've ever seen, and I've been around!' Sean was one of those dudes who was kind of confrontational at first, but once you got past that crazy veneer, he was a sweetheart. He passed about about 10 years ago, which was a real bum-out."

But the "trophy for creepiest" of the story goes to the person who actually tried to bite at it. "Somebody tried to take a bite of it and immediately threw up. I was like, 'That's the dumbest thing I've ever seen, and I've been around!'" Taylor added.

If this isn't a peculiar story from one of the maggots, I don't know what would qualify as one. Though I got to give it to the maggot that he will always be remembered by the Nine.
