I wonder if this is Michael Keene's way ofĀ apologizingĀ to everyone for taking four damnĀ yearsĀ to come out with The Faceless'Ā Autotheism? Probably not, but I like to pretend it is.
Keene has apparently been pretty open with people about his solo record and a faceless cover album recently, so Metal Insider got on him about it. Keene told Metal Insider:
I actually do have some stuff done for that, but Iāve been just writing lots of music for lots of different things right now, and Iām going to kind of sort out what is what when I have enough material for something. Thereās new Faceless stuff in the works, amongst other things thereās a Faceless cover album being worked on right now and thatās the things thatās the farthest along right now. I have three songs tracked for it so far. Hoping to get that out maybe early next year, maybe January or February. Weāll see, maybe sooner.
Solo Keene could be interesting. I'm interested to hear if it's a lot less metal than The Faceless usually is or what. The dude can sing and write, obviously, so whatever he comes out with should efinitely be turning some heads. When asked about what bands The Faceless would be covering for their covers album, Keene responded with a few:
We got Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Killing Joke, Soundgarden, At the Gates, Megadeth, andĀ David Bowie.
What the hell is with metal bands and Depeche Mode recently? I'm totally cool with it, but all of a sudden…
