Tim Lambesis Trial

Tim Lambesis' Wife Is Suing Him In Civil Court For $2 Million; Claims Label Won't Release His Music

Now, it's on! Besides the impending case against As I Lay Dying frontman, his wife has just filed a huge civil lawsuit to the tune of 2 million dollars against Lambesis.

Lambesis of course, was arrested on May 7th for attempting to hire a hitman to murder his wife. The supposed hitman ended up being an undercover cop.  Lambesis, who pleaded not guilty, is currently out on $2 million bond after paying $160,000 to a bail bondsman.

Previously, we chronicled that Meggan filed for divorce in September of 2012, and the restraining order against their three kids is allegedly what sent Lambesis to hiring a hitman, so that he could see his children again.

Today, Lambgoat, redubbed Lambesisgoat by our friends at MetalSucks, filed a massive report chronicling the dispute between the former lovers. Just in case you're wondering how much this is costing both sides:

One of Meggan's divorce attorneys asked for release of funds from a court-controlled account. That request was for $52,500 in "fees" and $40,000 in "costs." Meggan's divorce team is listed as four attorneys, a paralegal, a secretary, and a "clerical person;" the combined hourly rate for these seven persons comes to $1,740 per hour.

Meanwhile, Tim Lambesis' divorce attorney listed his fee as $525 per hour. Tim stated that he has paid his own attorney $35,000 as of July 2013. After that date, a judge released $20,000 more to each attorney for both sides out of a trust account.

Holy moly! While Meggan claims that Tim earns $14,088 per month, based on information she had from November 2012 through February 2013, Tim claims he is living with his parents, spending $2,000 a month on psychiatric help and currently unemployed since the arrest stating:

"All tours were cancelled and the record label does not want to release any albums; the band still has an outstanding debt that will need to be repaid from any future income. The band was advanced 200k two years ago for a contract. That contract ended 6 [months] ago and paying back $150k."

Sidenote: Could this mean we aren't getting that crowd-funded Austrian Death Machine album after all, even  though it should be done by now?

On top of the divorce suit, Lambgoat uncovered that on August 2nd of this year, Meggan filed a civil suit claiming "personal injury and assault, domestic violence and intentional infliction of emotional distress; these injuries from when her husband allegedly hired a hitman." Meggan is claiming that the hiring of the hitman translates to abuse and she is asking for  $1 million for emotional distress and $25,000 in medical expenses to date, in addition to $75,000 for future medical expenses and $1 million in punitive damages. The suit also seeks attorneys' fees. The next date for this matter is April of 2014.

Needless to say, this whole ordeal has caused both Lambesis quite a bit of emotional stress and at this point, Meggan is just going to take her (future) ex-husband to the cleaners.
