Woman Helps Man Avoid Suicide By Sharing LINKIN PARK Lyrics

Such a touching story.

Here's a story that warms our blackened hearts. Healthcare worker Christina Settanni was driving along driving along State Road 408 in Orlando, FL when she noticed a man sitting on the side of a bridge. She told Click Orlando  “I didn’t really think about stopping, but I thought as I saw him in my rear-view, I probably should stop, especially since no one else did. I stopped because I’ve been where he is. So I know what it’s like. He needed somebody to show that somebody cared, and tell him he didn’t need to do that today.”

She went over and sat next to the man and tried to console him. She ended up quoting a Linkin Park lyric from "One More Light," which went “Who cares if one more light goes out? In a sky of a million stars…Well, I do.”

That was enough to convince the man to get off the bridge. A local police officer was able to capture the moment on video.

This is a very touching moment and the 2017 song has become an anthem of sorts for suicide prevent. Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington died via suicide later that year. Bennington died by hanging himself in his home, just outside of Los Angeles. He was discovered by a housekeeper and shortly after, a bandmate arrived to pick him up for a scheduled photo shoot, only to see what had happened. He was laid to rest at the end of July, surrounded by friends and family.

If you or someone you care about is thinking about suicide, please reach out to someone who can help. Here is an excellent write-up by my friend Stabitha explaining what you should do if you or a friend need help. In the United States, the national Lifeline is 1-800-273-8255. "Controversies aside, From Zero is a mostly strong (if unsurprising) rebirth for Linkin Park."
