Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach recently underwent vocal cord surgery and has since let fans know that he's doing well. Leach has now revealed that he's been practicing vocal cord exercises and even demonstrates what he's been doing below via a short video on Instagram. He also adds that he's slowly working toward doing more lengthy vocal exercises, which doctors have recently cleared him to begin. We wish Leach all the best in his recovery!
Don't forget to catch Leach with Chef Brian Tsao, Food Network star Chef Chris Santos, and Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta at their mental illness awareness event Small Bites Of Hope this Wednesday. No word on if Leach managed to wrap up his vocal recordings for Killswitch Engage's new album before he was deemed to need surgery.
After 5 days of complete silence, it’s day one of voice rebuilding. Low “U” sound into the straw submerged about 1/2 inch into the water. This along with gentle sliding scales for about 5 minutes every 4-5 hours. Today I’m only doing about 3 minutes. The force of the air should be Gentle yet not too gentile. This is great for anyone who deals with fatigue or sickness. This method acts like a massage for the voice! There are tutorials online search: Tube singing as well as Straw singing, (make sure to get non toxic straws) fascinating stuff! .
Thus begins my rebuild. I’ll post more as I begin to progress. Here we go friends… #VocalHealth #SlowAndLow #DayOne #JesseLeach #JesseLeachVocalRebuild #killswitchengage #TimesOfGrace #TheWeapon #VoiceTherapy #MelissaCross #ZenOfScreaming #SpeakExtra
