Our sister site Gear Gods is holding a contest in which all guitarists are invited to download a drum track written and performed by Gojira drummer Mario Duplantier (using his new Rythme Sauvage midi drum pack), write and record their own song over it, and then enter to win a prize pack from the recording software wizards at Toontrack. More info here!
For some inspiration to get your brain firing, we’ve enlisted the help of several prominent metal musicians to record their own tracks over Mario’s drums: Jason Suecof (Capharnaum, Charred Walls of the Damned, producer for The Black Dahlia Murder, Born of Osiris, etc), Chris Broderick(Act of Defiance, ex-Megadeth, ex-Nevermore), Wes Hauch (Black Crown Initiate), Scott Carstairs(Fallujah), Brody Uttley (Rivers of Nihil) and Justin McKinney (The Faceless, The Zenith Passage).
Last week we premiered Jason Suecof’s track with a guest guitar solo from Marty Friedman ad today we present the work of Wes Hauch from Black Crown Initiate. Shocker — it’s completely different than Suecof’s, but no less awesome! Simon Grove of The Helix Nebula plays bass on the track. Jam it below.
Toontrack’s EZDrummer 2 is now available for free as a 10-day trial right here, on Mac or PC. Lots more great deals on loads of gear throughout November, Toontrack’s Metal Month’s, available here.
