SYSTEM OF A DOWN's John Dolmayan: "There Is No Systemic Racism In The United States"

Another hot take.

System of A Down drummer John Dolmayan has offered some new controversial statements about racism in the United States. He's been making headlines these last few weeks for his increasingly differing political viewpoint than that the music he plays speaks to, leading some to question how he and frontman Serj Tankian could agree on anything, leading to Serj having to release a statement about their "extremely polarized" political differences. They remain friends. Last night, Dolmayan shared some controversial thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement.

Dolmayan has already called defunding the police the "stupidest thing he's ever heard." And now, he's blaming the actions of a few on the many. Dolmayan shared a photo of Secoriea Turner, an eight-year-old girl who was fatally shot in Atlanta near a Wendy's where a police offer shot and killed Rayshard Brooks last month.' CNN reports "Secoriea Turner, 8, was shot in the area of University Ave and I-75/85 Saturday night while riding in a vehicle with her mother and an adult friend, according to police. The driver was attempting to enter a parking lot at 1238 Pryor Road where a group of individuals illegally placed barricades. Someone in the group opened fire on the vehicle, according to police, striking Turner."

Commenting on the situation, Dolmayan blamed the entire Black Lives Matter movement. "The supposed black lives matter movement never had legitimacy in my view and were always a Democratic Party fundraiser and propaganda tool . Along with antifa they have shown themselves to be the enemy of the people of the United States and have adopted lawlessness emboldened by a sensationalist media and the moronic Hollywood elites who pander to them at every opportunity . They will be brought to justice but when? How many more innocents need to be murdered before we come to our senses."

One commenter pushed back on Dolmayan's views and said that Dolmayan never speaks up when racial injustice against Black people happens. The commenter also wrote  "downplaying systemic racism in the U.S. is playing a dangerous game," to which John replied: "There is no systemic racism in the United States. Name one example"

John, a simple Google search would answer your question. If this is too much to read, Ben & Jerry's couldn't make it simpler.

Dolmayan, in previous weeks, has said President Trump is "the greatest friend to minorities," and had some unique conspiracy theories about coronavirus.
