Today was moving day here in the WEEKLY INJECTION outpost. I've got myself a lovely little view of a brand new corner of a storage room and I can almost hear Rob's hearbeat from here. Almost…
To the metals…
A.M.S.G. – Anti-Cosmic Tyranny
Genre: Black Metal
Origin: Edmonton, Canada
Label:Â Profound Lore
Buy now on Amazon.com
A.M.S.G. or Ad Majorem Satanae Gloriam or "For The Greater Glory of Satan" are a Satan loving black metal band from Canada fronted by Angelfukk Witchhammer. I don't really feel like I need to say more more than that, because you now know exactly what this band will sound like.
Blessthefall – Hollow Bodies
Genre: Post-Hardcore/Metalcore
Origin: Pheonix, Arizona
Label:Â Fearless
Buy now on Amazon.com
Up until this week's Weekly Injection, I had the privilege of not knowing that this band existed. I can't unknow them now. Anyway, this band is what Hot Topic probably blares these days. Nasally clean vocals, unnecessary electronic skipping, Jesus stuff.

Born Of Osiris – Tomorrow We Die ∆liveÂ
Genre: Progressive Melodic Deathcore or something
Origin: Chicago, Illinois
Label:Â Sumerian
Buy now on Amazon.com
Why does this band get shit on exactly? I mean, they use a lot of the same tropes that I gave Blessthefall shit for, but I think Born of Osiris make it work in their prog metal setting. There is quite a bit of electronic influence on this record (as the song below will demonstrate), so get your twerking shoes on!

Diamond Plate – PulseÂ
Genre: Thrash
Origin: Worth, Illinois
Label:Â Century Media
Buy now on Amazon.com
Thrash is just in again isn't it? Guitar acrobatics, fast playing, etc. These guys seem to add subtle melody and death metal bits where their contemporaries don't, so that is a way they are not just another (insert modern thrash band here).

Fleshgod Apocalypse – Labyrinth
Genre: Symphonic Death Metal
Origin: Rome, Italy
Label:Â Nuclear Blast
Buy now on Amazon.com
I imagine that Fleshgod Apocalypse are what people wish Dimmu Borgir sounded like. There are quite a few similarities, but Fleshgod don't seem so cheeseball doing it. Really cool, and really REALLY epic.

Horseback – A Plague Of KnowingÂ
Genre: Psychedelic Stoner
Origin:Â Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Label:Â Relapse
Buy now on Amazon.com
Completest collector fans of Horseback will want this. It contains not one, not two, but three discs of rarities, demos and single splits. If you are unfamiliar with the band, like I was, this is actually a pretty great starting point to get into their unique music.

O'Brother – DisillusionÂ
Genre: Ambient Hard Rock
Origin: Atlanta, Georgia
Label: Triple Crown
Buy now on Amazon.com
O'Brother are a great band I don't think enough people know about. They are like if Thrice never bothered with their quasi-screamo past, but instead got high and listened to Isis. Sure, they may not warrant the "Metal" label, but they are worth your time and attention. Great live band, by the way.

Shakhtyor – Shakhtyor
Genre: Sludge
Origin: Hamberg, Germany
Label: Metal Blade
Buy now on Amazon.com
Speaking of getting high and listening to post metal bands, the debut of Shakhtyor is great lurching instrumental metal that sounds like if Jucifer dropped the microphone and enlisted a guitarist. Top-notch feedback solos here.

Vasaeleth – All Uproarious Darkness
Genre: Death Metal
Origin: Georgia/Colorado
Label:Â Profound Lore
Buy now on Amazon.com
Another profoundly Profound Lore release. This two-man death metal outfit take these five tracks on All Uproarious Darkness to write an homage to all things death metal. They aren't reinventing anything here, but they are doing what's been done well.
Watain – The Wild Hunt
Genre: Black Metal
Origin: Uppsala, Sweden
Label:Â Century Media
Buy now on Amazon.com
You all know Watain by now. They like three things: Satan, blood, and bike rides. The Wild Hunt offers their most adventurous release yet and it has already proved to be a decisive album. Check out Jeremy's full review here and my chat with frontman Erik Danielsson here.
