Elton John is clearly keeping up with modern music, we he's publicly backed London-based nü-metal band Nova Twins. In a recent interview with BBC's Clara Amfo, John had some pretty high praise for Nova Twins and urged everyone to go see them at the upcoming Glastonbury Festival.
This also opens up a whole new possibility that maybe John has an incredibly sick nü-metal collection at home, and when not writing bangers is actually blasting old Korn.
"These girls rock my world," said John. "I've had them on the show, I've played their music, too. It's so wonderful, what they do. I'm so looking forward to seeing them live because you can feel what it's going to be like. They are are just, for me, phenomenal.
He later added: "These girls could light up Sheffield. They are just phenomenal, the way their videos look. It reminds me of Rick James a bit, Larry Graham of Central Station, Sly and the Family Stone, it's got that kind of… Bootsy Collins [vibe]. Nova Twins, I love you to death and they're going to storm Glastonbury. If they come on stage and it's a sunny day, they could steal the whole thing."
Nova Twins were predictably stoked about the shout out. "When you switch on the TV and THE Elton John is holding up our album Supernova!!" wrote the band. "Huge love to Elton for picking us as one of his top 4 Glastonbury Festival ones to watch and of course Clara Amfo for her endless love!
"Gonna play the show of our lives on Sunday Other Stage at 1:45pm. Catch it live on @bbciplayer if you’re at home xxx."
