Everybody's got to start somewhere, and before guitarist Jason Hook was selling out arenas with Five Finger Death Punch all over the world, and having issues with the frontman of his band, Hook was a hired gun for big time acts in music.
Hook proudly talks about his time in Duff's band, and why shouldn't he? It might not exactly be creatively fulfilling, but a job is a job, and in terms of work, it seems like a rather cushy gig, and you get to play music as opposed to work the counter at Guitar Center. In a recent interview, Hook has said he enjoyed his time in the band:

Hook revealed that during his time in Duff's band, he made an appearance with her on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and even though this was only a few years ago, it just feels like ages ago:

Hook is being so outspoken because he is part of a new documentary called Hired Gun about the very talented musicians who are hired in the background for these big time acts.
