The Metal God will not be stopped by cancer! Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford revealed that during the COVID-19 pandemic, he was dealing with a prostate cancer diagnosis.
Halford revealed to Consequence “I had my little cancer battle a year ago, which I got through and that’s in remission now, thank God. That happened while we were all locked down, so things happen for a reason as far as time sequence of events. I have nothing but gratitude to be at this point in my life, still doing what I love the most.”
Halford was diagnosed in the spring of 2020 and underwent a prostatectomy on July 5th of 2020. Earlier this year, more cancer cells were found around his prostate, leading to Halford getting radiation treatment in April and May of this year.
After getting the all clear in June, a tumor was found on his appendix, leading to an appendectomy.
Halford commented “It’s been a draining year, I can’t deny it, but I’m delighted to have come through it. I feel like I’ve had the most thorough MOT that a Metal God can have.”'
All the best to Halford, as well as guitarist Richie Faulkner, who is recovering from an aortic aneurysm
