Primer 55 came into the rock world's collective consiousness at the tale end of the late 90s nu-metal wave, and I really think if they released that "Loose" single a year or two earlier they would've ended up a much bigger band. But alas, it was not meant to be. I am reminded of the track today due to some sad news – vocalist Jason “J-Sin” Luttrell has passed away.

Luttrell fought a long battle with Hepatitis C, he was crowdfunding to help pay medical bills and noted:
“I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C when I was 28 years old. I contracted this disease from a blood transfusion that I received when I was 3 years old after being hit by a car. I have been diligently trying to get disability because after 10 years of fighting this disease I am now in desperate need of a liver transplant.”
Sadly, it looks like the disease got the best of him.
“As most of you are already aware original vocalist Jason -Jsin- Luttrell pasted away last night. We had many great years of friendship and many good times both on the road and off. May god now have his soul to hold. Prayers to his family and friends. #FFL“
Guitarist Bobby Burns added:
“At 831 pm central time yesterday I lost a person that was once my very best friend in the world. Riding around Memphis TN on skate boards in the middle of the night and being stupid. Writing songs. Talking about dreams. Our dream came true and we signed a record deal that would forever change our lives. It was a roller coaster that turned best friends into business partners and boredom that turned business partners into wreck less humans that made lots of bad choices. We had ALOT of fun at times but also a lot of drama. I’m sad we never got the chance to reconnect on any level. My prayers are with your family. Rest easy Jason Luttrell.”
Our condolences go out to Jason's family, friends, fans and band.
