The tributes have been pouring in to guitar god Eddie Van Halen, who tragically passed away this week, after a long battle with tongue cancer. One nice piece of information that came out in the wake of Eddie's death, is that he made peace with former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar before his death. Hagar just released a new video, with fellow former Van Halen member Michael Anthony.

Hagar and Anthony are together for Hagar's annual birthday bash. The bash typically takes place in Cabo San Lucas, but because of travel restrictions, they are doing it on Catalina Island off the coast of California. Hagar, Anthony and the rest of The Circle will be performing Van Halen covers all weekend.

Hagar says in the video that Eddie's death hit him like a "freakin' Mack Truck" and that covering Van Halen this weekend will be "bittersweet."

Bassist Michael Anthony chimed in to say the whole thing felt surreal. You can watch the clip below.

Earlier today, the band's manager, Irving Azoff, revealed that plans were in the works to do a massive stadium tour in the summer of 2019, with Van Halen, with David Lee Roth reuniting with Michael Anthony, and planned to have big openers like Foo Fighters and Metallica.
